Silver Feather Ring by Dygee Silver Feather Ring by Dygee
I tried my hand at hammering silver this time. Then I played with some jax to get the grooves to stand out. I'm really starting to enjoy this class since we get to do our own thing :)

92.5 Sterling. Hand sawed, hammered and bent.

Very beautiful work! The flat feather before the bending and staining is just fascinating! Don't get me wrong, I love the stain of the final product. So beautiful!

Thank you :) It was a fun experiment, and I am a fan of the stain as well.

That is so neat! I seriously love the idea, and I think this class will produce a lot of neat trinkets! <3 I might commission you one, one of these days~

I'm also curious, is this pure silver? Or will it rust over time?

Pure silver. It will still oxidize over time. Sadly, of all the pieces I've made to date, this is the only one I still have. The bag of my work went missing on the bus the other day =/

Awww... That's too bad! I never thought the bus was that dangerous! o_o Did you also loose all your materials and such as well?

I got to save my tiny sawblades… ah well. I'm a bit bummed since I had a nice gift in there for someone, but I figure this way maybe I can try again and make a nicer one.
